No Tell

The sign on the building says Hotel, but the locals would call this a No Tell Motel because of the unique and discreet services this business offers locals and travellers alike.

From what I have read,  it’s like pulling up to the MacDonald’s drive thru window when you arrive, . You can’t see them, they can’t see you. Once you have paid for your room (they start at 200 pesos per hour at this one) you are directed to a unit number. When you reach your number you drive your car into the garage and the garage door closes.

In complete privacy, you enter your room, order your drinks, movies, special services, what ever you want.

While I personally have never been in one of these establishments, Mar & I did stay a couple of  days (actually we were stuck in the mud)  in the field behind  the Coronada Auto Hotel and Trailer Park,  last year.  The only differences we noticed was that the “hotel” rcceptionist sure wore tight jeans and they really laundered a lot of sheets every day.

In a country where there is so much emphasis on family, I find it strange to see the auto-hotels and similar businesses are a very visible part of large cities and small villages all over Mexico.
