Mazatlan Preparing For Carnival
It’s less than a week until Mazatlan Carnival, it begins on February 11, and where ever you go in the old town area you’ll see the preparations. There is seating being set up for the viewing of the parades, tents and stages for the all-night parties and they are cleaning, everywhere you look you see someone with a broom or mop.
We, along with our neighbors are working on a plan to take in as much as we can. The main issue is that most of the events go all night long and we don’t. We’ll do the best we can.
We went for a long walk in Maz yesterday and climbed Ice Box Hill for this shot of the Malecon (walk along the water).
Same walk, same hill, different view. Between us and the cruise ships in the harbor is old town Mazatlan. The hill you see behind the cruise ships is part of Stone Island. The small harbor you see to the left of the ships is the small harbor for the water taxis and fishermen on the island. You may recognize the small island on the far right. It’s in a lot of the beach pictures you see on this blog.
I climbed really high to get you this shot. Hopefully this puts it all in perspective.
Gracias for the read Amigos
