Are We There Yet?

We’ve been on the road about 5 weeks now and we’ve done some miles. Actually about 4200 miles. So far our travels have taken us through 4 Canadian provinces and a dozen US states. We’ve slept in rest areas, truck stops, Walmarts, a couple of RV manufacturers and a half dozen different RV Parks. We are truly having the time of our lives and in spite of some of my choices for roads, and continue to become closer as we lay down the miles together.

We are now less than 2,000 miles from our Mexico destination, parked in the sand at Tres Amigos RV park  in Mazatlan, Mexico for Christmas.  The original plan was that we would spend a month or so there and head further south. Now we’re thinking we might just sit there for 2 or 3 months. As I said, we’ve done a lot of miles.

We are currently in Sacramento to share Thanksgiving with Mar’s sister and family. Sounds like a great time. After the weekend it’s southern Arizona for a few days,  then catch up with George and Sue Yates in Nogales. The four us will wind our way down through Mexico. I’m thinking I should start warming up the CB right now.

What’s that sound in the background you ask? That’s just Angel and Buster learning the words to “I’ve Been Everywhere.” Hit it Hank:

I did not know that Hank Snow was from your area of the world. Maybe it’s not that I’m old enough to appreciate Hank Snow. Maybe it’s that Hank Snow is “timeless”…..
