Another Day
We have choices here on Stone Island. If we want to go to Mazatlan we can take a water taxi, drive the rough, washboard road or (the most fun), drive the beach. As the crow flies we are about 6 miles from the center of the city, but by truck, no matter which route you choose, it’s closer to 45 km (27 miles). For the beach it’s a 9km (6 mile) fun trip 4×4′ing in the sand, up through the Palms before you rejoin the washboard and dusty road right by the cattle guard. Finally you get back to the pavement and work your way into town. We are enjoying the beach here.
In town at last.
Once in town, we had lunch, did our shopping at Mega and headed home when, oops, we had a flat
No worry though, in minutes there was more than enough help. We call them Mexican Angels and we’ve met more than our share on our assorted trips to Mexico. Speaking of trips to Mexico; Including airplanes and RV’s Mar counts 8 or 9 so far, you would think we like the place.
Remember the home made ice cream we talked about yesterday? Youll be happy to know it’s absolutely awesome and NO, you can’t have any.
