Adios Amigos Y Amigas

March 10th, 2010

I took this picture at about 3 oclock on March 9. It’s 30 something degrees C (about 90F) and they are all waving goodbye to Marilyn & Larry. They all look pretty happy. We are truly enjoying the moment but inside, really  we are extremely sad. When you read this we will be on our way to Guadalajara and beyond .  Yes, we are ready to hit the road, but …..

Once again we have made some extremely good friends. We look forward to getting back to our family and Ontario,  but we also look forward to our return in November, now just 8 months away.

Although we were not “actually” with you for the last 5 months Larry & Marilyn, we were with you in spirit thru your blogs and photos….we have been to Matzatlan on a cruise a few years ago and can relate only in a small way (only spent one day there) of your experience in living there….it is one of Mexico’s best kept secrets!!!
Larry, you should be a travel journalist….Rick Steves is no match when it comes to blogging.
Your descriptions backed up with photos were moving and inspiring….we felt as if we could touch and feel and see and smell everything you did.
See you in April…and have a very safe trip coming home.

Hi: We both envey the amazing last months what a dream trip. I would love to do the same. The friends will last a life time that you have met. When do you expect to arrive home in Ont.? Drop us a note when you do. We have had an ideal winter. It is the winter that didn’t come. We have not had snow since Dec. 10. But still not like yours. Drive safely…. Gertie & Vern

Watching Paint Dry XXVI

March 10th, 2010

She is calling this one Benji’s Tree. Benji is a donkey so he doesn’t actually have a tree but this one is certainly unique and grows out of the rocks on Goat Island near Benji’s Pizza. I’ll bet Benji the donkey has even chewed a few leaves from this tree from time to time.

Like it? You can see more of Marilyn’s Art here.
