Invasion Of The GMC’s

May 10th, 2009

This weekend here at 50 Point Conservation Area near Hamilton they are hosting  a rally of the Heritage Cruisers Motorhome Club

There are classy looking GMC coaches all  over the park, probably a couple of dozen in total. There are even a couple Viixen Motorcoaches  visiting   too. They only built a few hundred of these. There’s even a  Winnebago Rialta. You’ll see a lot of these around.

I’ve had a fascination with unique coaches like the GMC, Vixen or FMC’s ( there’s a blast from the past). You’ll recall that in February of 2008, while in central Florida,  we visited a company that restored GMCs, one of many in that area we understand.

Unfortunately they didn’t choose a great weekend for their event. Friday night was like summer here but today, Sunday, the temperature isn’t going to get above 11C (low 50’sF) with a cold wind to boot. I’d hoped to meet a few of the people and learn more about them and their toys. Nobody’s out any more than necessary. So I’ll have to be happy with this website instead.

Thanks for visiting.

Happy Mother’s Day

May 4th, 2009

I know, I know, for most of the world Mother’s Day is not til next Sunday but for anyone in Marilyn’s family this Sunday,  May 3, 2009  is Mother’s Day. I don’t know if she was just a littte confused or maybe she just couldn’t wait any longer. either way she convinced us all that  today was her day. Her mother received a nice potted plant last Friday and today we got together with the kids to celebrate the big event.

It’s all good though, as you can see it was a beautiful sunny day in Toronto and we certainly had a great time with James and Pam, Jason and Elizabeth. By the way, the glasses are full of orange juice.
