Happy to be on the road
I told you we were not in a hurry! We got the go-ahead yesterday at 3pm, tonight we are at the Flying J in Ashtabula, Ohio (the Buckeye State) on our way to northern Indiana. It seems that even tho Mar has been in the RV industry since 1953 (oops, sorry, that was the year she was born, I’ll try again). Even though Mar has been in the RV biz since 1954 she has never before been to “RV Central”, Northern Indiana. So for the next couple of days we are going to tour a few RV Manufacturing companies and maybe take in the RV Hall Of Fame in South Bend.
When we left Grimsby this morning the Canadian dollar was about .77 US, our TSX had lost about 14% yesterday to get down to about 8500 points, gas was about .93 per litre and there were only 2 items on the news: The upcoming US election (7 days til) and the Economy. Did I mention the Economy? They spend at least 90 % of every news program discussing the “upcoming Global Recession”. I will be interesting to see how this compares to what we see when we return to reality 5 months from now.
I’m sorry we’ll miss all this.

The big day finally arrived and so today we put on our finest “Sunday Go To Meeting” clothes and headed off to Stroke Clinic at the Hamilton General Hospital.
The bad news is that I have a couple of restrictions in the artery on the right side of my brain, I guess that and the blood pressure caused the mini strokes. The good news is that they actually found a brain. They’ll look at the arteries’s in the spring when we get back, in the interim, I get to keep the brain.
So, you gotta understand we are a little happy. We are treating the news rationally and in an adult manner. We are not going to rush off and get on the road right away or anything silly like that.
We don’t plan on leaving til tomorrow.
Where are we going you ask? Good question. We can go anywhere in North America We are sticking with South.
Stay tuned, a new adventure begins.

We have all seen the stories and pictures of the crop circles in the farm lands of England and even once in a while, in parts of rural US. And who could forget the tales of cattle mutilation on the ranch lands of Alberta. Or ,once again in England, Stonehenge. But this is really weird.
What strange form of extra-terrestrial life could possibly have created this? Is this why the dogs were unexplainably barking furiously after mid night last night? Is this park being visited by RV’s and Rvers from other planets?
I know we go to bed early at night, but I haven’t noticed any really really strange strangers.
Think about it, if scientists can’t explain Stonehenge or crop circles how will we ever learn what created the about to be infamous 50 Point Picnic Table Circle?
Now it’s even more important we leave soon. For all our safety, October 27 can not come soon enough.
