Cialis, Viagara or Jig-A-Loo

February 8th, 2010

I was doing some work on my older blogs this morning and came across this  post from November 2008. I’m going to run it again because I think it’s an issue that at one point or another, most men, particularily motorhome owners must deal with.

Enjoy

I’ve always preferred Cialis myself, I think it’s the fact that it’s good for up 36 hours. sometimes I get sidetracked, you know, forget what I was going to do or forget where I put something (it started with keys), so  the extra time feature works out quite well. I see they have a new one that you take every day. I’m not big on putting chemicals in my body (I’m OK with alcohol, but we all have to draw the line somewhere) but it could work out good. As I age the forgetful thing certainly ain’t getting any better.

I’m telling you this because we had a similar kind of problem with the jacks on our motorhome. When we were pulling out of New Orleans while the other three worked fine, the left front jack stayed down. Put less delicately, I couldn’t get it up.

Now, think about this for a minute: You’ve talked for days about this next leg of your trip. You are all set for  new adventure, all prepared to hit the trail and because of a mechanical failure all plans must be aborted. Horrors! Even the dogs were disappointed.

I got underneath and poked and pried and got it so we coud move the coach. I left the jacks up for a couple of days til we got to Mustang Island where I had more time to play with the problem. I put the jacks down, sprayed them all with Jig-A_Loo , pried and pushed and got them all up, then repeated the process, and repeated the process and repeated… It was getting easier but still needed some help. I left it alone for a couple of days assuming I would deal with it again when we moved on.

So we are getting ready to move on, when a really excited Marilyn comes racing around the motorhome. “Your jack is up Larry, your jack is up” She yells happily. Now even the dogs are excited.

Now I don’t know if it was all the attention and gentle stroking or the Jig-A-Loo, or a combination of both but I do know that that’s a job that Cialis or Viagra couldn’t do.

Hmmmm, I wonder what else that stuff will work on. Maybe I should pick up an extra can….just in case.

Super Bowl Party

February 8th, 2010

Put together 3 tv’s, 30 to 40 people and fabulous pot luck and what you get is one great p a r t y!

Mar & I had extreme difficulty deciding which team we would cheer for but then realized the choice was oh so obvious.  Yes, we had participated in the Indianapolis International Marathon at one point, but more importantly we once lived in the Big Easy (sorry about the pictures. I’ll fix that), and you gotta love the underdog, right?. As it turned out, for once, we made the right choice.

Colorful fun
Colorful fun

I was poking around the website Weird RV’s this afternoon and came across this one. I think you could call it “extremely colorful”. I just have one question: Can I park it next to you?

Another Tres Amigos Day

February 7th, 2010

I took this shot about 9:00 yesterday morning when Marilyn and I were out for a walk. As far as we can see, looking both ways, there is us, someone riding their ATV and a worker setting up his water kayaks and boogie boards for his soon-to-be customers. That’s it, no one else in the miles of beach.

You can see there was some activity though. The tracks you see in the sand were left by the local Iguanas. The beach was all theirs before we humans got up this morning.

Every morning a local farmer moves his horses down into the village for the horseback rides for visitors and touristas. Every afternoon he moves them back up the beach to his farm. Everyday this colt follows it’s mother and the other horses up and down the beach, always a few hundred yards behind the rest. We’ve been here for close to 6 weeks now, we see the colt growing bigger. He probably tells his  horsey friends the same story about my belly.

In the background you can see some of our neighbors in the water playing catch. Had I taken the picture a few minutes later the horse would be back in the barn and the neighbors would all be at happy hour.

It’s all about the timing.

Iguanas Love Roses

February 6th, 2010

We have a few Iguanas that live with us here in the park. we don’t bother them, they don’t bother us. This guy has developed a taste for sweet tender Rose leaves.

We were in downtown Mazatlan last night, enjoying the  First Friday Art Walk When I spied this door.

I’ve been humming the tune ever since. Now I bet you will be too.

Old Town is such a neat area. In one block you will pass beautiful completely restored classic buildings, then right next door a classic future project for some one that looks like this.

Enjoy your day, Thanks for the read.

So nice to see that the iguana is taking a moment to stop and smell the roses!
